Russia equity market index
The Moscow Exchange Russia Index and RTS Index are capitalization-weighted composite indices calculated based on prices of the most liquid Russian stocks of the largest and dynamically developing Russian issuers with economic activities related to the main sectors of the Russian economy presented on the Exchange. Russia’s Equity Market Index: Month End: RTS data is updated monthly, averaging 950.680 01Sep1995=100 from Sep 1995 to Dec 2019, with 292 observations. The data reached an all-time high of 2,459.880 01Sep1995=100 in May 2008 and a record low of 43.815 01Sep1995=100 in Sep 1998. RTS Index is cap-weighted composite index calculated based on prices of the most liquid Russian stocks of the largest and dynamically developing Russian issuers presented on the Moscow Exchange. Number of the Index constituents may vary, but should not exceed 50. RTS Index was launched on September 1, 1995 at base value 100. The iShares MSCI Russia ETF seeks to track the investment results of an index composed of Russian equities. Russia and all other countries and broad geographic locations are ranked based on their AUM-weighted average 3-month return for all the U.S.-listed equity ETFs that are classified by ETFdb.com as being mostly exposed to those respective countries or broad geographic locations. In addition to price performance, the 3-month return assumes the reinvestment of all dividends during the last 3 months. Trading hours are from 9:30 to 19:00 for the Equity & Bonds Market and from 10:00 to 23:50 for the Derivatives, FX and Commodity Markets. All times are Moscow time.
